    The Last Broadcast (2002), Doves

Doves second effort is an extremely good combination of all types of sounds and rhythms, the overall feeling of the album is of hope, it’s sounds optimistic for most of it’s duration.

From the uplifting opener, Words, to the King Crimson tribute M62 Song, to the more shaky There Goes the Fear and the rocky Pounding, we can find a sweet dish of melodies that play well with each other.

Moving away from the more slow and mental material from their first record the band achieves a lot, they seem to be in control of their musical freedom that really shows beautifully.

It really is hard for me to pick a favorite Doves album, cause I really love them all, they keep a unique style but always in search of something different and daring, but this one stands out in my musical collection as a true Doves classic.
