A Farewell to Kings (1977), Rush

In between the epic 2112 and the heavy Prog-Rocker Hemispheres we have this record, that besides of having the classic Closer to the Heart has some of the most memorable songs from the band, beginning with the title track, which opens with some classic guitars only to be replaced with the expected brand of rock from the band.
Xanadu makes it’s slow arrival short after and takes us to a epic journey to paradise. The kick-ass bass guitar lines that begin the last track Cygnus X-1, which is another epic that shows the heaviness of the band once more, cracks away in some intense vocals from Geddy Lee and finishes the whole album with a great deal of mystery.
Indeed short of songs, but never short on quality, this surely has to be mandatory material for any Rush fan, the Canadian trio delivers once again and helps close their best decade.
